Led by former Salesforce.com CTO Craig Weissman and travel industry experts Marco Benvenuti and Patrick Bosworth, we aim to use vertical Big Data to develop mission critical applications to optimize the travel industry. We are seeking engineers to design and develop our first applications and infrastructure and who will have a huge impact on the company’s direction and success. We are setting a fast pace to deploy industry-leading applications so we need developers who enjoy taking on coding projects from a blank screen, creating frameworks, iterating specifications and hardening systems for high-volume deployment. Duetto Research is located in downtown San Francisco. We use Java server technologies, Big Data and NoSql analytical methods including MongoDB, AWS + Github, modern Javascript-driven web applications (jquery, backbone, underscore, REST) as well as iPhone / iPad applications. Our applications scale horizontally, ingest data from the web and various 3rd party APIs, and will be supported and upgraded in the manner of first class consumer applications. Desired Skills & Expertise
Ideal Qualifications:
- Proficiency with scalable server-side Java; ideally in the design of mission critical enterprise applications
- Familiarity with data driven and data focused applications, data scalability techniques; ideally a knowledge of SQL as well as modern NoSql techniques
- Understanding and love of Javascript, CSS, and API-driven / MVC user interface frameworks; Knowledge of or desire to build iOS applications
- Passion for analytical applications, forecasting, data visualization and dashboards; Familiarity with linear programming and optimization a plus
- Curiosity about business problems and using modern infrastructure to solve real world challenges
